This master is located at the confluence of the areas of Information Systems and Management. The specialized technical training in these scientific areas in the context of Electronic Business is further complemented
with training in other scientific areas such as Law and Languages and Cultures.
At the end of the program the master in electronic business should be able to:
know and critically analyze tools, techniques, and methodologies specific to electronic business;
develop analytical skills using concepts that come from a wide range of areas, directed to structuring and developing of solutions within the scope of the Electronic Business;
conceive, develop, and promote electronic business in an organization, including processes, technologies, and people;
develop, under guidance, applied research projects, namely action-research projects, about specific issues in the area of electronic business.

- Professionals holding a master in electronic business may act as professionals in organizations that has or intend to have an electronic business channel, individual consultants in the field of electronic business or
- promoters of their own business. These professionals will be able to act as agents of innovation in organizations.
- At the end of the program the master in electronic business should be able to:
- Apply value chain and supply chain concepts is organizations associated to electronic business;
- Implement the concepts associated to electronic business,
- Discuss the necessary conditions to achieve an electronic business and its impact in the activities of the organizations;
- show the importance of Information Systems in the development of electronic business;
- Present the challenges and future perspectives that are posed to electronic business to organizations, in order to promote its proactivity.
According to article 17 of Decree Law No 63/2016, Series 1 No 176 of 13 September 2006, candidates with the following qualifications may apply:
a. Holders of a bachelor's degree or equivalent;
b. Holders of a foreign academic degree conferred following a 1st. Cycle Studies, organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this process;
c. Holders of a foreign academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the degree by the Scientific Council of the UO where they want to be admitted;
d. Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the Scientific Council of the UO where they want to be admitted.
