Students from the School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE) have been awarded at the third edition of the Festivalul International Rezonanțe Sonore Online.
Ana Beatriz Moreira Bento received the 1st Prize with Excellence and the Grand Prize in Section A - Piano; and Simão Borralho Rocha won the 2nd Prize in Section A - Piano.
Promoted by the Romania-based Asociația Culturală ARTA SONORĂ, this festival, which took place entirely online last May, was followed by 2,500 viewers with 150 competitors from Portugal, Spain, France, Turkey, Republic of Moldova and Romania.
The international festival Rezonanțe Sonore Online was created at the request of young musicians eager to show the works they prepared during this period of isolation due to the epidemiological situation. The festival organiser, Doina Saliu, recognises this festival as an "opportunity to overcome this period more easily, because music is always an occasion for joy and celebration".
We recall that in March 2020, Maria Laura Cunha Nunes, also an ESMAE student, won the first edition of this online festival.
The participation of Ana Beatriz Bento, who performed pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach: Prelude and Fugue No. 15 (G Major), Book 1; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sonata Kv. 330 (C Major), 1st mouvement; - Frédéric Chopin: Etude Op. 25 No. 1, can be seen here:
