The Innovation and Research Center in Business Sciences and Information Systems (Centro de Inovação e Investigação em Ciências Empresariais e Sistemas de Informação-CIICESI) of the School of Technology and Management (ESTG) of the Polytechnic of Porto has just been recognized by the Foundation for Science and Technology (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia-FCT).
CIICESI is a unit of innovation and research, providing services to the community and disseminating knowledge in the areas of Business Sciences and Information Systems. The areas of application and research focus on Regional and Local Development, Legal Advisory and Consultancy, Business and Organizational Strategy, Quality Management, New Information Technologies, Industrial Engineering and Management Information Systems.
The Polytechnic of Porto sees its prominent position in I&D in Portugal being strengthened by increasing the number of recognized units, the number of researchers and the funding of FCT.
P.PORTO has 24 centers and scientific research groups spread over its eight Schools, participating in several I&D projects with remarkable recognition for their scientific production and impact on the environment, from companies to organizations of a social scope. It has several autonomous I&D units recognized by the FCT and reference research groups, integrated in Associated Laboratories and other research units.
