Project conducted by P.PORTO in Santiago, Chile

LAPASSION is the largest project of P.PORTO in the Erasmus + program and involves 14 partners from six countries

The LAPASSION @ Santiago project took place between April 2 and June 8, with the participation of 36 international students, including two students from ISEP.

This Capacity Building project, called Latin-America Practices and Soft Skills for an Innovation Oriented Network (LAPASSION) of the Erasmus + Program, involves 14 partners from Portugal, Spain, Finland, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. It is the largest project of P.PORTO in Erasmus +, with a funding of around one million euros, and aims at the development of multidisciplinary projects by groups of students from various academic degrees, areas and countries. The project manager is Carlos Ramos, ISEP professor and researcher at GECAD (Research Group on Intelligent Systems in Engineering and Computing for Innovation and Development).

For ten weeks the students were divided into six groups, led by teams from the Catholic University of Chile and Duoc-UC (the latter partner of P.PORTO in the worldwide network of Design Factories), developing cross-disciplinary projects with the objective of responding to the challenge "How to improve the living conditions of the elderly".

In this event, other proposals were also developed, among them a project of intelligent walks, with the incorporation of a chip in the shoes, a project to support the use of signage to deal with disasters and catastrophic situations, among many others, always with the objective to respond to the challenge and improve the living conditions of the elderly.

LAPASSION finances 84 student mobilities, through three countries. The next initiative will be held in Montevideo (Uruguay), followed by five cities in Brazil (Pelotas, Uberaba, Goiânia, São Luís do Maranhão and Manaus) before returning to Santiago de Chile.
